you honked at us when we rode our bicycles on the roads.

we dug, tunnelled and built the train system of your nation;
you avoided standing next to us when we rode on those trains.

we spoke about wonders of this nation to our families and friends;
you spoke about us as an issue at your parliament and elections.

we grazed our skins to build your homes across the island;
you did not want us to be your neighbours.

we smiled and wanted to shake your hands for this opportunity;
you did not want to look at us.

we left our nation to build yours.”
